Following the penultimate round of fixtures in the Sky Bet Championship, the Owls are now guaranteed to finish in sixth position.
Wednesday defeated Cardiff 3-0 on Saturday to secure a place in the play-offs but Derby’s 1-1 draw at Brighton on Sunday means the Owls will finish in sixth.
As a result, Carlos Carvalhal’s side will play the first leg of their play-off semi final at Hillsborough on Friday 13 May, with the second leg away from home on Monday 16 May.
Wednesday will face either Middlesbrough or Brighton in the semi finals.
Boro host the Seagulls on the final day of the campaign which will decide who takes the final automatic promotion position and the side that will face the Owls in the play-offs.
Wednesday head to Wolves on the final day of the season next weekend.
