Sheffield Wednesday have signed powerful Angolan striker Lucas Joao, subject to international clearance.
The pacy forward has penned a four-year deal at Hillsborough, joining from Portuguese Primeira Liga side Nacional.
Joao began his career as a youth with Beira Mar Atlético Clube Almada after moving to Portugal as a teenager.
In 2011 he signed for Nacional and moved out on loan to third tier side SC Mirandela to gain first team experience.
After impressing with Mirandela, the 21-year-old returned to Nacional for the 2013/14 campaign and the coveted hitman attracted the attention of a raft of clubs around Europe.
He now joins Wednesday for an undisclosed fee.
Joao, who has who has scored three goals in as many appearances for the Portugal Under-21s, will now link up with former Nacional team mate Marco Matias at Hillsborough and becomes the Owls’ ninth new recruit of the summer.
