Owls star at Easter Soccer Camp

9 April 2015

Hundreds of children have enjoyed two weeks of football training this Easter break, thanks to the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme.

And the Owls’ first team squad joined in the fun on Thursday as special guests!

Led by head coach Stuart Gray, the players enjoyed had a kickabout with the kids, signed autographs and, it’s fair to say, made the Soccer Camp selfie central!

The Wednesday players also took time to share their expertise and give advice to the aspiring young footballers.

Children aged five to 14 have taken part in the Community Programme’s Soccer Camps, developing skills, technique and standard of play.

Community Officer Steve Taylor said: “The Soccer Camps are always great fun and allow the kids to start playing football at a good level. They’re a good way for kids to start playing and to also progress onto higher levels.

“It was great to see the players there and to see them meet all the kids!”

The Soccer Camps are delivered by expert coaches and take place at the Middlewood Road training ground and Retford Oaks School.
