Price looks forward to Boro clash

28 August 2015

Wednesday will round off the first month of the season with a clash against Middlesbrough at Hillsborough this weekend.

It’s the final round of Sky Bet Championship fixtures before the first international break of the campaign and Lewis Price wants to head into the period on a high.

The goalkeeper, who has made three appearances this season for the Owls, said:

“It’d be nice to finish a busy month on a high. I think we have done pretty well, we have looked solid and have scored goals.

“Everybody is getting used to each other and how everybody plays so all in all it’s been a good start.

“It will be tough on Saturday. With Middlesbrough, if they’re not pushing for the top two you’d imagine they’d be in the play-offs.

“We know we can’t go too gung ho and get carried away but it’d be nice to finish on a high.”

Price has also had words of encouragement for academy product Joe Wildsmith, who made his debut between the sticks earlier this month.

The 19-year-old featured for the Owls in the Capital One Cup victory over Mansfield and described the occasion as a dream come true, before coming off the bench at Portman Road four days later against Ipswich.

Price added: “Joe has done very well when he’s been called upon and that is good for the club when you’ve got talented players coming through and I include Cameron Dawson in that too.

“Joe is getting all the attention because he’s playing but both are good kids. They’re good goalkeepers and that’s very positive for the club.”
