Ryan Croasdale joins Sheffield Wednesday

9 June 2014

Sheffield Wednesday have signed central midfielder Ryan Croasdale.

The Preston academy graduate has penned a one-year deal at Hillsborough from 1 July.

Croasdale has been involved in the youth set-up at Deepdale since the age of eight and progressed through the ranks before signing his first professional contract in May 2013.

Having captained the Under-18s at just 16-years-old, Croasdale went on to make his debut for the Lilywhites in October 2013 in North End’s JP Trophy clash with Oldham.

The youngster gained further first team experience last season in loan spells at Tamworth and Stalybridge Celtic.

Owls academy manager Dean Ramsdale, who offered Croasdale scholarship terms during his time as Director of Youth Development at Preston, is delighted the midfielder has linked up with Wednesday.

He said: “I’ve known Ryan a long time and I’m really pleased that he has joined us.

“He is a very talented and technically gifted player and fortunately for us, he will be with us for the next year, as I know other clubs were interested.

“He is a box to box central midfield, he’s a winner, he’s determined and I’m delighted he has signed.”
