Scotland call for Stevie May

30 September 2014

  • Stevie May selected in Scotland squad
  • First senior call-up for Owls striker
  • The Scots face Georgia and Poland in Euro 2016 qualifiers

Owls striker Stevie May has been included in Gordon Strachan’s 27-man squad for their Euro 2016 qualifying double-header against Georgia and Poland.

The call-up will serve as a huge boost for May, who has been selected for the first time in the Scot’s senior squad.

The 21-year-old has eight caps under the belt for the Under-21s and featured earlier this month, as the youngsters triumphed 3-0 against Luxembourg in their Euro 2015 qualifying campaign.

May will be in the squad that faces Georgia at Ibrox on Saturday 11 October and then Poland in Warsaw on Tuesday 14 October.

The ex-St Johnstone man has scored three goals in eight Championship appearances for the Owls.

Good luck, Stevie!
