Second derby excites Saints ace

1 April 2015

Southampton starlet Lloyd Isgrove is set to feature in his second Yorkshire derby this weekend having made his debut last time out against Rotherham.

As Wednesday prepare for the visit of Huddersfield, the 22-year-old, who is on loan with Wednesday for the remainder of the season, is looking forward to his first taste of Hillsborough.

Isgrove enjoyed the derby atmosphere at The New York Stadium and is now anticipating an eventful S6 clash.

He said: “It was a mad game against Rotherham, I got 60 minutes under my belt and it was a good experience.

“It was nice to get out there with the lads and to get the win.

“I didn’t have as much of the ball as I wanted because it was a tight game but with us being at home, it will be up to us to take it to Huddersfield and that will suit me.

“We will be looking to start well, play on the front foot and that should give me the freedom to run at players and use my pace.”

After experiencing the backing of just over 1,200 Wednesdayites at Rotherham, Isgrove has said the fans were unbelievable and is ready to sample the S6 support on Saturday.

He added: “This will be my first home game which is something to really look forward to.

“The fans at Rotherham were unbelievable and were a big credit to the club. It would be nice to play in front of over 20,000 and help the team pick up another win.”
