Sheffield Wednesday can confirm a pre-season friendly with League One side Barnsley ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.
The Owls will face the Reds at Oakwell on Saturday 2 August, 1.00pm kick-off, one week before the start of the new season.
After a tough campaign for Barnsley, the club’s relegation from the Championship was confirmed on the penultimate game of the season at Middlesbrough in April.
The clash with Danny Wilson’s side is Wednesday’s second confirmed pre-season fixture this summer, having previously released details of the home friendly with Premier League side Newcastle.
