Stevie May feeling right at home

15 September 2014

After half a dozen games for the Owls, striker Stevie May has said he feels at home in Sheffield with Wednesday.

The Scot, who forged a lethal reputation in front of goal north of the border, is enjoying life in S6 and keen to get into his stride as quickly as possible.

Having registered his first goal away at Middlesbrough last month, the forward would now love nothing more than to go on a run and hit a purple patch.

He said: “I’m feeling at home. It’s not been a hard transition, from the first minute I was made to feel welcome, the boys are great and I’m loving it here.

“I’m still learning everyone’s game inside out and that is something that will come with playing games and in training.”

Ahead of the clash with Birmingham on Tuesday, May is feeling confident Wednesday can continue their unbeaten run away from home.

He continued: “As a striker, you want to nick a couple of goals and with that comes confidence.

“When one comes, they can be like London buses, as the saying goes, but it’s more important as a team that we keep picking up points.

“We feel we should be a lot higher up the table but we’ve had a solid start to the season.

“We would like to be scoring more goals, it hasn’t quite fallen properly for me as yet but I’m loving my football here.

“As a team and with the form we have been in, we want to go to Birmingham and win the game. It will be tough but we have got high expectations.”
