The sign of a good team

23 November 2015

Jack Hunt said for 70 minutes on Saturday the Owls’ were below par but the collection of three points at full time shows the strength of the team.

Huddersfield led from the 53rd minute with Sean Scannell on target before Lucas Joao levelled with 12 minutes left on the clock.

Wednesday went from strength to strength in the latter stages and triumphed 3-1, with Kieran Lee edging the Owls in front before Joao added a superb third in stoppage time.

Assessing the game, Hunt said: “The sign of a good team is when you win and don’t play well.

“For 70 minutes we didn’t play very well at all. But the last 20 minutes we did, and made it count.

“We couldn’t get our shape and get the ball off them, they kept the ball really well. It took them to score for us to finally pull our finger out.

“When we did that, there was only going to be one outcome.”

He added: “Lucas, in particular, came on and gave us a great outlet up front with his fresh legs. Two great goals, and that’s what strikers get paid for. They are match-winners.”
