New recruit Michael Turner has expressed his desire to play regular football having sealed a season-long loan to Hillsborough.

The Owls signed the towering central defender on Thursday and Turner has both eyes focused on Saturday’s tussle with Middlesbrough and beyond.

He told swfc.co.uk: “First team football on a regular basis is what I want and my aim is to get that here at Sheffield Wednesday.

“It wasn’t quite working out for me at Norwich so coming here is the right thing for me at this stage of my career.

“I have a lot of experience and that is key at any level. Hopefully I can help make a difference.

“I have joined the club at what seems a really exciting time, with the new manager, new coach and a really positive feeling around the place.

“It’s a huge club with a fantastic fan base and I’m really looking forward to it.

“I’ve played here before about five or six times and I have always been struck by the place, by the atmosphere, and now I want to experience that as a Sheffield Wednesday player.”

Turner will wear shirt number three for the duration of his S6 stay.
