The Owls’ Under-18s won a seven-goal thriller against Brentford at Middlewood Road on Saturday morning.
Wednesday fought back from 3-1 down to emerge triumphant, with a second half onslaught finally getting the better of the Bees.
Just as the contest ended well for the Owls, it started in a similar fashion as Matt Penney prodded his side in front.
But that was as good as it got for Wednesday in the opening 45, who conceded three quick-fire goals before the break.
Following the resumption, though, it was one-way traffic and George Hirst pulled one back with a vicious volley from a Penney cross.
Then it was all square as the influential Penney scored his second to level the game at 3-3.
A pulsating clash saw Hirst smash against the crossbar as the Owls pressed for a winner before Brentford almost stole it but the visitors missed a glorious chance with time running out.
And right at the end, it was Wednesday that took the plaudits, with Warren Clarke going on a mazy run and finishing adeptly from 20 yards to seal victory.
