Under-21s duo support Futsal programme

3 February 2016

The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme last month hosted the area finals for the Football League Trust Futsal Cup and two Owls players helped present awards to teams on the day.

The finals, held at the EIS Sheffield, saw regional community teams battle it out to be crowned the champions.

Pupils from the Hinde House School represented the club’s Community Programme at the competition and demonstrated excellent skill and standard of play.

Under-21s players Frank Betra and Luke Booker were on hand to present the awards to the winners, pose for photos and talk to the youngsters.

The club’s Community Programme runs a comprehensive futsal programme which ranges from BTEC to grassroots level.

Matt Bray, Social Inclusion Manager for the Community Programme, said: “It was great to host the finals here in Sheffield and to have them held at the EIS just made the event that bit more special. Frank and Luke made it a really special event and they were excellent with all the schools. Well done to all involved!”
