Under-21s impress Owls coach

16 December 2014

Owls coach Lee Bullen reflected positively on another impressive performance from the Under-21s.

The Development Squad have now posted back to back wins after defeating Coventry 3-1 at Middlewood Road on Tuesday in the lunchtime kick-off.

Goals from Jacques Maghoma (2) and Mani Dieseruvwe did the damage for Wednesday and Bullen said:

“It’s a pleasing result and for the most part, a pleasing performance.

“I thought they did really well and scored two good goals through Jacques Maghoma.

“But I felt we still had another gear in us. Second half, we dropped off the pace a little and let them back in it.

“Marcus Tudgay scored a great goal and that gave them a lift at 2-1.

“Then we got our foot back in the game and started to knock the ball around like we can and deservedly got a third goal.

“Mani was unlucky two or three times, Jacques could have had a hat-trick and on another day we could have scored five or six but overall I’m really, really pleased.

“I think everything we work on in training is starting to show.”

On the senior players, he continued: “I thought the three senior lads were fantastic.

“Dielna was excellent, Jacques will get the headlines for his goals and Corry has played a lot of games with us and always plays with a smile on his face.

“We are trusting each other as a group and when the senior boys come in, they look as though they enjoy playing in the team as well.”
