Sheffield Wednesday have signed Braga defender Vincent Sasso.
The Frenchman has joined the Owls on a season-long loan.
The 24-year-old began his career with French top flight outfit Nantes, with whom he signed his first professional contract in 2008.
Sasso – a versatile stopper who can operate in central defence and at full back – swapped France for Portugal in summer 2012, joining S.C. Beira-Mar before catching the eye of Portuguese giants Braga the following January.
The European ace signed a deal with Braga until 2017 and could now be in line to face his former club in the friendly clash on Friday 24 July during the Owls’ pre-season trip to Portugal.
On the international stage, the towering defender has represented France at youth level from Under-16s through to the Under-21s and will now add further steel at the back for Wednesday.
