Owls set for Primeira Liga test

24 July 2015

Wallace looks ahead to Braga friendly

Tonight’s clash with Braga will represent a different kind of pre-season challenge for the Owls and is one that Ross Wallace is looking forward to.

The Portuguese outfit finished fourth in the Primeira Liga last term and Wallace expects a tough workout from the off this evening.

Ahead of the 7.15pm kick-off, Wallace said: “The boys are looking good, we’ve had a good couple of days in training and we’re looking forward to the match.

“It will be a different test to what we’ve had with teams sitting back and letting us come at them.

“Braga are a strong side and it will be a good test, we know they like to keep the ball but it will be a good game for us.

“They like to play and will come at us so we will have to be defensively organised.

“Bristol City at Hillsborough is the big game and that is what all the boys are getting prepared for, so that’s why these games are so important.”

On a separate note for the Scot, Wallace has reported a smooth transition to the next chapter of his career with the Owls having left Burnley in the summer.

The winger added: “I’ve settled in really well, the lads have been brilliant with me and welcomed me into the squad so it has been an easy transition.”
