Jeremy Helan was left a frustrated figure following the goalless draw with Huddersfield last week but insists things will click for Wednesday.
The Owls were left to rue their bad luck in front of the Sky Sports cameras but the Frenchman believes that if Wednesday continue their hard work, they will reap the rewards.
“We have been working hard on the training pitch and have had some good sessions building up to this game,” he said.
“We have to keep creating and we will score. We don’t concede many so once we get it right at the other end, we will be fine.
“Lewis McGugan has settled in well. You can see he’s a midfield player who gives us options. He’s good on the ball and should be a good addition to the squad.
“The strikers need service and Lewis can help with that. We need everyone to chip in and for goals to come from everywhere.”
Malky Mackay will be looking for his first win as Wigan boss this weekend with the Latics in the bottom three.
And Helan expects a tough test as he explained: “When you look at Wigan’s squad, they have got some quality players.
“We know it’s going to be a very hard battle if they turn up and are at it.
“It wasn’t that long ago Wigan were in the Premier League and won the FA Cup.
“They reached the play-offs last year so we know what they are capable of.”
