Yorkshire Smokefree teams up with Sheffield Wednesday

26 January 2015

  • Owls player supports quit smoking campaign
  • Chance to win match tickets
  • NHS tailored quit smoking service

The NHS stop smoking service in Sheffield, Yorkshire Smokefree, has teamed up with Sheffield Wednesday to encourage people to quit smoking.

Yorkshire Smokefree are offering people who attempt to quit smoking for at least four weeks the chance to win free tickets to a Wednesday game.

Those who attempt to quit in the next few weeks will be entered into a prize draw where match tickets and other prizes including signed shirts will be up for grabs.

Owls player Rafa Floro has shown his support to the campaign and earlier this season went along to the launch of the service.

Yorkshire Smokefree, run by the South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, makes it easy for smokers to kick the habit with its range of support where smokers can ‘pick and mix’ to suit their lifestyles.

Tailored support means that you can find a way of quitting that suits you. Expert advisors offer online support 24/7, friendly advisors are available on the phone seven days a week and face to face support is available at Yorkshire Smokefree Sheffield’s city centre quit shop.

Claire Holden, service manager at Yorkshire Smokefree Sheffield said, “This is a great way to reward those who have taken that difficult first step towards quitting smoking. Once you have taken that first step we can help you quit for good.”
