Under-18s held in derby game

Posted on: Mon 08 Feb 2010

The Sheffield Wednesday under-18s were pegged back in the final minute by city rivals Sheffield United on Saturday, drawing the game 2-2.

Vadaine Oliver grabbed both goals for Wednesday who looked to be on their way to a merited victory.

Liam Palmer was the architect of the first goal as his clever ball forward sent Oliver through on goal and the striker made no mistake to give Wednesday the lead.

United equalised before the break but Oliver restored the Owls advantage in the second half from a well-worked set piece. But, with time running out, United were able to score a late leveller to ensure a share of the spoils.
