The Sheffield Wednesday Under-18s have enjoyed a productive week, picking up four points from a possible six after two difficult matches to contend with on the road.
First up last Saturday, the young Owls travelled to Nottingham Forest for one of their toughest tests of the season with Forest flying high in the league.
But in an entertaining clash, Wednesday came away from Nottingham with a point in a 3-3 draw, with goals coming from Charlie Tunnard and a Vadaine Oliver double.
Following on from that hard-fought point, the Under-18s made the short trip to Huddersfield on Tuesday afternoon and came away with a well-earned 2-1. Sam Mir and Danny Kirkland were on the scoresheet for Wednesday.
Coach Nev Burbeary said: "There were a few concerns early on in the game against Huddersfield but I was pleased with the result and the way in which the players responded.
"The Forest game gave us something to build on and we took that opportunity at Huddersfield."
