Posted on: Thu 26 Aug 2010

Youngsters in Sheffield are being given the opportunity to take part in free football activities with Sheffield Wednesday.

The SWFC Community Programme is working in partnership with voluntary group Friends of Richmond Park to offer fun football-related sessions on a weekly basis.

Fully-qualified coaches will be delivering the activities which take place on Saturday mornings from 11am to 12.30pm and are open to both girls and boys aged between 8 and 16-years-old.

The club's community officer Steve Taylor said:"The sessions are a great opportunity for the children to engage in some physical activity and get some professional coaching, while also making new friends along the way."

The coaching sessions began aftere Friends of Richmond Park secured funding from Sheffield City Council's Integrated Youth Support Service to enhance the current activities on offer in the area.
