Around 100 children went along to Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme's free football training sessions last week, and there are plenty more opportunities on the horizon.
Held in Shiregreen, the sessions have been funded by Sheffield companies Frank Haslam Milan and Aim Higher.
SWFC community manager, Marcus Brameld, said: "The whole day is a great way of the children getting out in the fresh air, which is so important nowadays.
"It's a way of tempting them away from their computer consoles for a few hours of training with coaches from Sheffield Wednesday. It's always great to see how many children turn out for these types of things - especially when we have people turning up in all different football kits!
"We've had a few Arsenal and Manchester United fans, not to mention a few Blades as well. It's all about bringing them together through a love of football, regardless of the team you support or even your level of skill - it's about getting a community spirit and having fun. Who knows - we might even find the next big star!"
