Take One Game At A Time
Brian Laws has urged his players and all Wednesdayites to take one game at a time ahead of the three games in ten days about to unfold at Hillsborough.
With the battle against relegation nearing boiling point, the Owls are about to enter a crunch period that will go a long way in deciding their destiny for next season.
SWFC face quickfire contests against Palace, Stoke and Coventry and Laws says his focus for now is fully on the Easter Saturday Eagles clash.
He said: "I know everyone is saying we have three home games on the bounce but I really want to concentrate on one game at a time because before you know it, you can take your eye off the ball and then you're in trouble. You can't plan too far ahead.
"We all recognise the position that we're in and as a result of that, every game becomes bigger than the last one, and none more so than Crystal Palace."
Wednesday counted themselves unlucky to go down by the odd goal in three at Selhurst Park in December and Laws insists his side are capable of turning the tables in the return fixture.
He reasoned: "Palace are unbeaten in five and in good form but we are on as good a run as almost anyone in the division. They don't concede a lot of goals but neither do we. So I'm expecting a very tight game with not a lot of goals.
"Obviously, we want one more than them and if we go into the game with the right attitude and desire, we have what it takes to get the points."
Laws has also implored everyone in the S6 camp to keep a cool head as the curtain starts to fall on one of the tightest Championship campaigns in years.
"We mustn't panic because, on paper, of all the teams down there, we have one of the best chances of getting out of it.
"If we win at the weekend, that will unnerve a lot of the teams in the cluster that could go. Also, some of these teams don't know what it's all about but we understand completely the emotions of being in that bottom three."
Laws added: "I think there are a lot of twists and turns to come. There are some big clubs down there and one of them could take the drop. We have to make sure it's not us."
