Owls boss Alan Irvine is hopeful that captain Darren Purse will be in contention for this Saturday's trip to Hartlepool.
Purse, who missed out against Scunthorpe in the Carling Cup on Tuesday, could return this weekend as Wednesday travel to Victoria Park.
Other than Jermaine Johnson, all players have been in full training, leaving Irvine with plenty of options for Saturday.
He told Wednesday Player: "It's looking like Darren will be OK, he was with the physios today and trained with them rather than with the group but we're hopeful he will be alright, otherwise everybody else has trained today with no problems.
"I know what I think is my strongest team for this weekend but it doesn't necessarily mean it will be that for the rest of the season."
After the 4-2 defeat at Scunthorpe, the Wednesday manager is looking for a response from his side with attention turning back to the league.
He continued: "We were going to lose a game sometime, it's how you respond when you've lost a game. Everybody was disappointed because we wanted to be in the next round but you have to move on."
On this weekend's opponents, Irvine expects a difficult contest against a Hartlepool side that have enjoyed a good start to the season.
Irvine has been impressed with their style of play, particularly in their 2-0 win over Sheffield United in the first round of the Carling Cup.
"It's a tough game. I went to watch them against Sheffield United and they played extremely well and thoroughly deserved their victory.
"They pass the ball well, they are well-organised, their movement is good and they play with an interesting system so it will be a hard game for us."
