Ladies Player Profiles

Sheffield Wednesday Ladies squad members for the 2008/09 season.

Defenders

Sarah HobsonSarah Hobson
Sarah was another coup for the Owls, signing from Leeds United. She has played in the USA and is a vital player in the SWLFC back line. A very good reader of the game, she is a player who will stop at nothing in order to get the Owls a positive result.

 



Midfielders

Annette WaleAnnette Wale
Annette is an experienced midfielder who leads by example, her hard work and sheer determination is a joy to watch. Her performances in 2007/08 were vital to the Owls' success in securing their status in the Premier League. She has a no-nonsense approach on the ball and works hard off the ball.


Hollie BarkerHollie Barker
Hollie is a product of the junior set up at Sheffield Wednesday Ladies, she caught the eye of the senior staff through last year's pre-season and made the step up to the senior squad shortly afterwards. Hollie is a natural wide player who, although is young, shows no fear in beating defenders. She also has a quality delivery, making a forward's job easy and giving defences a big headache - watch this space!

Bianca RossBianca Ross
Bianca worked her way into the Owls squad after spending a couple of seasons on the fringes of the first team set-up. She is tall and powerful and has a quality left foot. Bianca possesses a good attitude and her work rate is second to none.

Christina Skull

 

Christina Skull
Christina is a player who joined the Owls from Chesterfield Ladies, she is tall and strong and was vital in the Owls' midfield line last time around. Boasting a great aerial ability, Christina plays simple, effective football.

 


ForwardsAbbie Mullen

Abbie Mullen
Abbie was a summer signing from the red and white side of the city, she is a quality forward who is accurate and precise. She only needs one chance to punish any defence. Abbie likes to play off the shoulders of defenders and has good pace and strength.

Shelly Donohoe


Shelly Donohoe

Shelly joined the Owls from local rivals Leeds United, she is a versatile player who is most comfortable leading the attacking line but is experienced enough to play in any position and do a very good job, she has a great attitude and huge will to win.

 

Rachel SkeemerRachel Skeemer
Rachel is in her third season at Sheffield Wednesday. A hard working forward that can lead the line or drop off to link up play, she is the Owls' leading goal scorer and is one of the most admired players in the league.


Laura WindleLaura Windle
Laura came to the Owls from the Derbyshire border at Chesterfield Ladies. She possesses blinding pace and gives any defensive line a nightmare. Laura is still young and developing with the Owls, she is one to keep an eye on for the future.
