Goalkeeper Rob Burch has spoken of his disappointment at leaving Sheffield Wednesday after Owls boss Brian Laws decided not to offer the former Tottenham Hotspur man a new contract.
With Lee Grant in fine form last season, picking up the Players' Player of the Year Award, Burch only managed to make three first team appearances.
And, after offering pro contracts to Academy graduate Arron Jameson and first year professional, Richard O'Donnell, Laws allowed Burch to seek his future elsewhere.
Laws told Paul Thompson of The Star: "There are a fair few clubs after Rob already. He'll definitely get another club and play first team football.
Burch told the newspaper: "I'm disappointed to be leaving. The main attraction to coming here was working with Billy Mercer (Wednesday's goalkeeping coach). Working with him and Lee Grant we all got on really well.
"I think I improved Lee and he improved me. I think I've benefited from the full year's work, and I'm back to how I was before I broke my leg two years ago.
"Hopefully I can be back in the future playing either for or against Sheffield Wednesday," Burch added.
Meanwhile, Owls Academy product, Sean McAllister, has told Yorkshire Sport of his delight at being offered a new two-year deal at Hillsborough.
"The next step for me is to get a regular place in the first team," he told Leon Wobschall. "I've had my time on loan and things like that and have bridged the gap between the reserves and the first team and I am ready to kick on now."
