Sheffield Wednesday FC are recruiting for Owls Cheerleaders ahead of the club's 2008/09 campaign.

A recruitment open night - offering the first opportunity to sign up - will take place at Hillsborough on Wednesday August 6 at 5.30pm in the Exhibition Hall, via main reception.

You will be greeted by the Owls cheerleading coach Rebecca Hughes, who is a member of Future Cheer and the British Cheerleading Association.

Rebecca has coaching qualifications with the IASF and has been cheerleading since the age of 12. She has performed with the Lincoln Jets and the outstanding Leeds Celtic troupe who have won various first places in competitions nationwide.

Rebecca, whose renowned skills will benefit the Cheerleading Academy immensely, is eagerly anticipating the partnership and said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to bring my skills to South Yorkshire and SWFC.

"I'm looking forward to creating an exciting atmosphere on match days and sharing my enthusiasm for cheerleading with the children who attend classes at Hillsborough Stadium on Wednesday evenings".

Lessons are held on Wednesday evenings at Hillsborough at the following times:

5:30pm - 6:30pm Ages 6 -13 years
6:30pm - 7:30pm Ages 14+
