Former Norwich City star Dion Dublin has paid a glowing tribute to Wednesdayites following the rousing reception he received in S6 on the final day of the 2007/08 campaign.

Dublin's appearance at Hillsborough for the Canaries back in May was his last of a career that spanned two decades.

Dublin said in an interview this week: "It was incredible at Hillsborough. If you think of the stadia I could have retired at, away from Norwich of course, with the history and the feeling, then Sheffield Wednesday was the perfect place to go - 36,000 people stood up and said goodbye to Dion Dublin.

"The referee stopped the game as people stood - the press box, the directors' box as well. It was appreciated, it really was."
