Richard Hinds is making steady progress in the injury bay following the broken leg he suffered at Wolves last month.

Hinds fell victim to a freak accident in the Black Country that has sidelined him indefinitely.

But the Owls defender is now fully focussed on his route to recovery, revealing the pot cast on his leg has now come off, to be replaced with a more 'user friendly' model as the break continues to heal.

He told swfc.co.uk: "I've had a couple of weeks resting and doing nothing at home, which was frustrating more than anything. But the cast is now off and I've had an air cast put on which I can take off myself.

"That's helped immobilise the ankle and given me a good starting point, so that is progress in itself."

In terms of pinpointing a return date, the medical team monitoring Hinds' progress are reluctant to go into specifics.

Richard explained: "It's just too early at the moment. I keep asking the physio but he would rather not put a time on it because he says I could get more frustrated and start pushing myself quicker than I should.

"I'm seeing the surgeon on a weekly basis too and he will give me the go-ahead to start doing more recovery work as and when.

"It's just a matter of taking each day as it comes and listening to the advice of the medical staff."
