Brian Laws has made five changes to his team from the game at Barnsley in midweek as the Owls take on Birmingham City at St Andrews but once again injury has forced his hand.

Richard Wood returns from a groin strain while Steve Watson is back in the starting line-up while Jermaine Johnson returns from a one-game suspension. Etienne Esajas resumes a wide berth while Leon Clarke is set for his first start of the season as a lone striker.

Marcus Tudgay (groin) is out but Deon Burton is on the bench alongside Francis Jeffers and Frank Simek is in the matchday 16 for the first time since December 2007.
