Manager supports effort to find lost jet skier
Sheffield Wednesday manager, Brian Laws, met the family of a South Yorkshire businessman who disappeared when jet skiing off the coast of Bali in Indonesia on Tuesday.
Jeremy Hoyland, a British champion jet skier from Penistone, went missing on October 24 during a jet skiing trip with friends. The 41-year-old made a series of mobile phone calls on the day, the last of which said he was approximately two miles from the coast of Bali but he has not been seen since.
Mr Hoyland's wife, Jacqui, 44, believes her husband could still be alive on one of the many uninhabited islands in the area. She flew out to Bali to look for her husband but returned to the UK to drum up support while Mr Hoyland's brother has stayed in Indonesia to work with the local authorities.
Brian Laws met Jacqui and the couple's two children, Ellena, 13, and Georgia, 11, today at Hillsborough to offer his support in the families search for Mr Hoyland.
"I can only sympathise with Jacqui and her family because it is a terrible time for them as they wait for news on Jeremy. On behalf of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club I would like to express our best wishes to the Hoyland family and we sincerely hope that Jeremy is found in good health soon.
"I would also urge any body who may be able to help the family in any way they can to do so because the Hoylands need all the support they can get at this difficult time."
