Owls defender Tommy Spurr is rated as 50/50 for this weekend's game with Coventry at Hillsborough, while striker Akpo Sodje could also miss out.

Spurr, an ever-present so far this term, is suffering the effects of a dead-leg picked up at Derby on Saturday.

As a result, the left back could be forced to sit out the Sky Blues clash.

Spurr told swfc.co.uk: "I took three whacks to the leg at Derby and the muscle is sore at the moment, particularly when I bend the leg.

"We'll see how things go over the next couple of days, obviously I don't want to miss a game."

Meanwhile, Sodje is a doubt for the Coventry contest. The striker left the Pride Park field last weekend with a hamstring strain and underwent a scan this week, the results of which will be revealed in the next 24 hours.
