Owls striker Akpo Sodje is set for another spell on the sidelines after scans revealed a tear in the player's hamstring.

Sodje started his first game since the opening day of the season on Saturday at Derby but pulled up with the injury in the second half.

The new problem is not the same as that which Sodje picked up in August against Burnley but is thought to be connected to that injury which tore the tendon that connects the back of the knee to the hamstring.

Manager, Brian Laws, said: "Unfortunately, the results of a scan on Akpo revealed a tear in the hamstring. This is not the same injury as before but once you get a hamstring injury they are notorious for ongoing problems in the same muscle group and it looks like Akpo will be out for between four and six weeks."

In the mean time, Peter Gilbert and Etienne Esajas should be in contention for this weekend's match against Coventry after both sustaining minor Achilles injuries last week.
