Beam back tickets available from usual outlets
Sheffield Wednesday is delighted to confirm that the Sheffield derby at Bramall Lane on Saturday, February 7 (12pm noon kick-off) will be beamed back to Hillsborough so supporters can watch the match at our home ground.
An away allocation of 3,000 tickets for the match at Sheffield United sold out in around three hours enabling Sheffield Wednesday to host a beam back event with the agreement of our opponents and the Football League.
A 45 metre square screen will be erected on the pitch and BBC Radio Sheffield's commentary of the match will also be played live at Hillsborough.
All supporters will be seated in the South Stand, including the Grandstand, for this event and tickets are priced £7 for adult season ticket holders, £10 for adult non-season ticket holders and £4 for concessions. Tickets are available through all of the club's usual outlets (by phone, internet sales and in person) and will go on sale as follows:
• Friday, January 23 - Season ticket holders - maximum of two tickets each
• Tuesday, January 27 - Members - maximum of two tickets each
• Wednesday, January 28 - Tickets go on general sale
Season ticket holders will be able to select their seats subject to availability but South Stand season ticket holders may not be able to take up their usual places as seats will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Tickets will only available in advance with no sales on the day of the match.
Sheffield Wednesday chairman, Lee Strafford, said: "We are very pleased to be able to host this beam back event which will allow many more of our supporters to watch the Steel City derby from their home stadium.
"The speed with which the away tickets sold out for this game shows that there is a massive appetite to watch this fixture so we look forward to seeing thousands of Wednesdayites at Hillsborough for what promises to be a great day out in S6."
Turnstiles will be opened at 10.30am on the day of the match and refreshments will be available on the South Stand concourse. The Owls Megastore will be open from 9am until 12pm noon when the match kicks off.
While Sheffield Wednesday want to accommodate as many fans as possible for this event, places will be limited to the capacity of the South Stand, which seats approximately 11,000 people. The last remaining tickets will be allocated in the front ten rows of the stand, which are uncovered and open to weather conditions.
Please note that this event is being staged for Sheffield Wednesday supporters only and any season ticket holder bringing an away supporter into Hillsborough for this game could have their season ticket confiscated.
