Narrow defeat for Under-18s

Posted on: Wed 04 Mar 2009

The Owls' under-18s went down 1-0 to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday in the noon kick off at Middlewood Road.

In treacherous weather conditions, Forest scored the only goal of the game in the last minute to seal the victory.

Academy manager Sean McAuley said: "It was a poor game on the whole and they scored a wonder strike in the last minute and that was the only way anybody would score given the weather conditions.

"I thought Tom Hall and Nathan Modest played well and both worked really hard but I'll be expecting better from the lads on Saturday."

The under-18s have another home fixture this Saturday at Middlewood Road against city rivals Sheffield United, with kick-off at 11am.
