Loan striker Luke Varney signed off his loan stint with Wednesday by scoring two goals against Southampton on Saturday at Hillsborough.
The 26-year-old, on loan from Derby, scored in each half, helping the Owls to their first home win since February.
He said: "I'm delighted to get a couple of goals but more importantly that we won the game. To finish my loan spell like that was really pleasing.
"The idea was to play a few games and the gaffer and the lads have been great to me. I've had no pressure and I think that's been reflected in my football."
Varney will now go back to parent club Derby ahead of their clash with Reading on Tuesday, when Rams boss Nigel Clough has already said the striker will be involved.
He continued: "I want to go back and succeed at Derby but I have really enjoyed my time here at Sheffield Wednesday and I'm really pleased I came.
"It's a shame I've only had two home games here, obviously being not able to play against Derby, but I could hear the crowd shouting my name and as a loan player that's great."
On a final note, Varney expressed his sympathy for the position the relegation-haunted Saints are currently in, but was pleased with how professional Wednesday were in their victory on Saturday.
He added: "I've got sympathy for all the teams down there, especially Charlton having played there. But we had to perform, you can't take your foot off the pedal and I'm sure they would have been the same in our position."
