Owls goalkeeper, Lee Grant, is set to make his 100th appearance for Wednesday tonight against Newcastle United.

The 26-year-old keeper has had two full seasons with Wednesday as a near ever-present and is looking to carry on his impressive run in the first team.

He said: "It is very pleasing to get there and touch wood I can stay fit and keep that run going.

"I wasn't even aware my 100th appearance was coming so quick. There has been some good games, some good performances and I feel the last two years have gone very well for me.

"It's now a case of pressing on and keeping those consistency levels up. With any goalkeeper it's about doing the right job day in, day out and the manager has been happy enough to keep me in the team."

Grant will pass the milestone at St James' Park and is looking forward to the occasion, playing against one of the favourites in the division for promotion.

He said: "It's a big game and a huge ground to play in - possibly 40,000 supporters will be there but we'll approach it no differently to how we approached Peterborough.

"Newcastle will be strong this season and one of the favourites so it's a tough game for us but we'll go up there in the right frame of mind."
