Following back-to-back victories in the Championship ahead of the international break, Brian Laws' team has two weeks of anticipation ahead of a monster week in the Owls' season.
Sheffield Wednesday play host to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, September 12, looking to build on a mouth-watering start to the season and two outstanding Championship victories - 4-0 against Scunthorpe United and then a 3-1 win at Plymouth Argyle.
With goals coming from all sections of the team and seven scored in the last two outings, confidence is high in the Owls camp ahead of three big games in the Championship - Forest is followed by Middlesbrough (September 15) at home and then Sheffield United away (September 18).
It all kicks off with Billy Davies' side and both sets of supporters gearing up for a tantalising duel. Our not too distant neighbours made a flurry of summer signings but the City Ground outfit had a shaky start to the season before a rousing win over East Midlands rivals Derby County. The Forest contingent are bound to be buoyed by that victory going into the S6 encounter.
Owls boss, Brian Laws, said: "The way we finished August in the league means that there is a real sense of anticipation for the run of games after the international break. We have played some very good football, creating plenty of scoring chances and our defenders and midfielders have also helped the forwards with our goal tally.
"I spent six years as a player under Brian Clough at Nottingham Forest so I look forward to the contest with Billy Davies' team that little bit extra. Of course, the most important thing is that we secure another three points but the atmosphere in games between Forest and Sheffield Wednesday is always something special and something that can help spur us on to victory at Hillsborough."
