Owls midfielder James O'Connor expects a stern test from one of the Championship's form teams on Saturday but believes Wednesday are capable of a positive result at Bristol City.
Of their seven games played at Ashton Gate this season, the Robins have won five, drawn two and are yet to taste defeat.
O'Connor said: "It will obviously be a tough game, Bristol City are in the top six and their home record is excellent. It's certainly a big challenge we face but that's what football is all about.
"We need to start the game well, play with a bit more belief and forget what happened at Watford last week. It's important we work as hard as we can and get a good result on Saturday."
The Owls sit 17th in the Championship table after defeat at Vicarage Road last Friday but, putting things into perspective, O'Connor knows it is a long season and three points on Saturday would help the climb back up the table.
He went on: "Three points makes such a difference because the league is so tight. If you do get that win, it gives everybody a belief. The expectation is on Bristol City and it's a game that we can hopefully do well in.
"If we can get that win it could propel towards the top half and there is still a long way to go, we'll stick together and drive back up that table. Bristol City are in the top six but as we've seen already in this league, teams do cause upsets."
