Fans to decide new goal music

Posted on: Thu 28 Jan 2010

Sheffield Wednesday is looking for supporters to help improve the matchday experience by deciding on what music is to be played when the Owls score a goal.

Goal music will return to Hillsborough for this Saturday's clash against Plymouth Argyle and fans are encouraged to celebrate finding the net by chanting along to Wednesday's traditional crowd favourite 'Aida'.

However, supporters can discuss what goal music they would like to hear for future matches through Sheffield Wednesday's very own social network and forums, OurWednesday.com.

We're looking for rousing suggestions that will lift supporters into continuing the chanting beyond the goal celebrations - whether a traditional song at Hillsborough or something new that you know will add to the atmosphere.

It will be up to fans to decide whether you would like to choose an appropriate existing song, or the more imaginative supporters can construct their own lyrics and create the next big Sheffield Wednesday chant.

Join in the discussion on the forums now and the people with the best suggestions will be invited in to Hillsborough to discuss which song will be settled on as the eventual 'goal anthem'.

To comment on this story log into the forums on ourwednesday.com - the official Sheffield Wednesday social network.
