Sheffield Wednesday skipper Darren Purse has been crowned as the Handley Brown Player of the Month for February.
Purse's solid displays at the back last month have earned the commanding defender the award for the first time since joining the Owls ahead of the current campaign.
Despite missing the last two matches through injury, the Wednesday captain has scooped the award on the back of strong previous performances earlier in the month against the likes of Blackpool and Nottingham Forest.
Purse told swfc.co.uk: "I'd like to say thanks to the fans for voting for me. My performances over the past few weeks have been good and back to the form I should have been showing at the beginning of the season.
"There's still a lot of hard work for myself and the lads to do for the rest of the season but the most important thing is that we are a Championship club in May."
The final voting for the February award was as follows:
1. Darren Purse - 37 per cent
2. Luke Varney - 23 per cent
3. James O'Connor - 12 per cent
Thank you to those who took the time to vote.
