On the matchday - Owls v Leicester City
Leicester City visit Hillsborough this weekend and there is a busy programme in place as Sheffield Wednesday aim to take three points from ex-Owl Nigel Pearson's side - below is all the essential information on the S6 matchday.
Help for Heroes
The Leicester game is part of 'Football for Heroes' week and dedicated to Help for Heroes - The Football League's official charity partner for the 2009/10 season.
This week, all 72 Football League Clubs are holding a game dedicated to the heroes of the British Armed Forces. The managers of both teams will be wearing Help for Heroes wristbands and the players will enter the field behind a Help for Heroes banner - please show your support with a rousing reception!
Arrive early
The turnstiles will be open from 1.30pm for the Foxes clash. Be sure to arrive in good time to avoid the queues.
Pre-match charity collection
The pre-match charity collection at the game will be for Help for Heroes.
Post-match analysis with Hirsty and Pearson
Season ticket holders and Owls Foundation members will have access to the 1867 Lounge in the South Stand as former Owls stars David Hirst and John Pearson give their expert analysis on the game. Admission is free of charge and will be on a first come, first served basis. Hirsty and JP will be on stage at 5.30pm and the lounge will be open until 6pm.
Beer and chips on the Kop
A new bar is now open on the Kop and will be serving both beer and crinkle cut chips to supporters at the match.
Matchday events
As part of the Help for Heroes day, members of the 106(West Riding) Field Squadron Royal Engineers (V)72 Engineer Regiment have been invited to the game as guests and will be completing a Guard of Honour before kick-off and a parade round the perimeter of ground at half time.
There will also be a cheque presentation from Sheffield Fans Derby to Help for Heroes.
Dance team, the Lady Owls, will be performing on the pitch before the game and at half time. Former Sheffield Wednesday players Billy Griffin and Tony Kay will also make an appearance on the pitch during the interval.
Food for away fans
The club will be offering supporters of Leicester City the opportunity to buy food to take away from the match on their journey home. Supporters should check out the kiosks on their way out.
Concessionary ticket checks on turnstiles
Wednesday supporters should be aware that, following feedback from fans suggesting that a small number of adult supporters may have been attempting to enter the stadium on concessionary tickets, the club will be implementing turnstile checks for these ticket types.
As stated in the club's season ticket terms and conditions, SWFC reserves the right to check ticket holders' entitlement to a concessionary ticket. This is not an exercise that the club wanted to implement but we feel this has become a necessity to ensure that concessionary tickets are used appropriately.
To this end, supporters gaining access to the stadium with concessionary tickets should bring a form of ID from the following list:
Driving Licence
Passport
Birth Certificate
Medical Card
Bus Pass
NUS (student) Card
HM Forces Card
We apologise in advance to anyone inconvenienced by this practise and thank supporters for their patience and understanding.
Supporters with concessionary tickets who do not provide ID at the turnstile will be turned away and will not be allowed entry unless they return with proof of identity. Supporters are advised that the ticket office will not deal with enquiries associated with ID checking on matchdays and these will be dealt with at the turnstile only.
