Clarke praises impressive Owls
Sheffield Wednesday striker Leon Clarke has praised the all-round contribution of his team mates following the Owls' 2-0 win over high-flying Leicester on Saturday.
Clarke proved the matchwinner with goals either side of the break overcoming the promotion-chasing Foxes but the big man was quick to dish out the praise elsewhere.
He said: "It was a really good performance today from everyone. All over the pitch we were good. I though JJ did ever so well considering he has been out for a few weeks and Granty made two superb saves.
"My partner up front, Marcus Tudgay, worked hard throughout the game and I wished he would have scored because he deserved it.
"For me personally, it's always nice to score, but today was all about the team performance."
Clarke is one of a host of players out of contract at the end of the season but insists his focus is nowhere other than helping to steer the Owls away from the relegation trapdoor.
Wednesday travel to West Brom on Tuesday and Clarke is expecting another tough test against one of the elevation favourites.
He added: "I haven't thought about it (my contract) to be honest. The only thing I am thinking about right now is helping to keep Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.
"We have another big game coming up on Tuesday at West Brom and obviously, they are a very good side.
"They will come at us and play some good football but the manager will have us very well prepared."
