Sheffield Wednesday is holding a series of online auctions for the benefit of the Football League's official charity partners, Help For Heroes.
A one-off, special Help For Heroes football - signed by the Owls' first team squad before Saturday's 2-0 win over Leicester - kicks off the auctions and is available for bids now at www.ourwednesday.com/helpforheroesauction
The ball comes in a clear acrylic-plastic presentation box with wooden base, complete with commemorative 'Help For Heroes Day' plaque which reads: 'Help For Heroes, Support for our wounded; Sheffield Wednesday FC - V - Leicester City FC, Saturday 6th March 2010, Help For Heroes Day'.
The ball is manufactured in the three colours of the British forces; the Army, the Navy and the RAF and features the 'Help For Heroes' motif.
The auctions will then continue from Tuesday evening with bids for each fully signed shirt - specially donated by PUMA - worn by each squad player for the same game, including that of Leon Clarke, who scored both goals in the impressive Championship victory.
All profits from this auction will be donated to the 'Help For Heroes' charity, which is the official charity of The Football League for the 2009/10 season.
