Sheffield Wednesday winger Jermaine Johnson's injury sustained at Preston North End on Tuesday night has been confirmed as a grade one tear.
Johnson had his leg scanned on Thursday afternoon and medical analysis of this scan suggests the Jamaica international will be out of action for ten to 14 days.
Owls boss, Alan Irvine, was relieved to learn that Johnson's injury was not more serious and hopes the danger man will return to the first team picture sooner rather than later.
"The scans confirmed that Jermaine had sustained a grade one tear of the hamstring and we have been advised that he is likely to be out for ten to 14 days," Irvine said. "However, this is the same diagnosis that we received on Darren Purse's recent hamstring injury so we are hopeful that Jermaine will not be out for too long.
"He has responded well to the treatment he has received so far so we are certainly more optimistic than we were after the match at Preston."
