Sheffield Wednesday have secured the signature of international striker Clinton Morrison, who joins the Owls on a free transfer signing a two-year deal.
The 37-cap Republic of Ireland forward becomes Alan Irvine's eighth summer signing and underlines Wednesday's intent to bounce back to the Championship at the first time of asking.
Morrison will significantly bolster Irvine's attack given an impressive ratio of around one goal in every three games from a career spanning 14 years to date. The Tooting product has scored 151 goals in total from 413 starts in all competitions.
The vastly experienced striker began his career with Crystal Palace in 1997 before moving to Birmingham City for £4.2m five years later. He rejoined Palace in 2005 for £2m before his second stint at Selhurst Park ended in 2008, when the 31-year-old signed for Coventry City.
Morrison was out of contract at the Ricoh Arena this summer and joins Chris Sedgwick, Jon Otsemobor, Paul Heffernan, Daniel Jones, Giles Coke, Gary Teale and Neil Mellor as Irvine's summer signings.
The striker's squad number will be 30.
