O'Donnell agrees Grimsby switch

Posted on: Tue 31 Aug 2010

Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell has agreed a 28-day loan move to Conference club Grimsby Town.

The 21-year-old is set to link up with the Mariners on Thursday and will be eligible for Saturday's live televised game against Luton.

Owls boss Alan Irvine revealed he was contacted by Grimsby counterpart Neil Woods on Tuesday afternoon and wished O'Donnell the very best of luck in Cleethorpes.

He said: "I took a call on Tuesday afternoon and we agreed the move for Richard.

"This is a great opportunity for him to get some games under the belt and it is also the chance of some valuable experience. I wish him every success."
