Two goals and into the next round of the Johnstone's Paint trophy was the perfect birthday present for James O'Connor who was delighted with his contribution in Wednesday's cup clash.
The Owls midfielder netted twice at Hillsborough to put Wednesday in the hat for round two of the competition and speaking to swfc.co.uk after the match he said:
"I was close to getting a hat trick. I have scored two goals in a game before when I was at Stoke in the play-off semi a few years ago but not three. But it's my birthday so it was a nice present."

Of course Wednesday are one of the favourites to go all the way in the Johnstone's Paint trophy, something which O'Connor is fully aware of.
"There could be a trip to Wembley at the end of this which would be very nice," he said.
"It would be excellent to get promoted and have a trip to Wembley - but again we need to take one game at a time. Let's get Sunday done and dusted first."
Wednesday are live on sky this Sunday in the lunchtime kick-off against Brentford and O'Connor is hopeful the Owls can carry on their fine start to the season.
He added: "It was important we got off to a good start and now we need to continue it throughout the course of the season.
"Sunday will be difficult, so it's a case of preparing properly for the game."
