Following an excellent start to the season, the Owls squad have received a double boost with both manager Alan Irvine and midfielder Giles Coke nominated for npower Football League awards.

Irvine has been named among four candidates for the npower League One Manager of the Month. The gaffer is in the frame after seeing his team enjoy an unbeaten start to the league season, picking up 10 points out of a possible 12.

Meanwhile, new recruit Giles Coke is nominated for the npower League One Player of the Month for August after scoring three goals in five games and enjoying an extremely encouraging start to his S6 stint.

Winners of both awards will be announced next week.
