Giles Coke has lifted the inaugural npower League 1 Player of the Month award.
The Wednesday midfielder has been integral to the Owls' flying start to the season, putting in a string of outstanding performances and scoring twice in four matches during August.
Peter Beagrie, member of the npower Football League Player of the Month panel, said: "Giles Coke has lovely balance and a great turn of pace. He is certainly putting in the performances to justify Alan Irvine bringing him into the club. He is also a fantastic ball carrier which allows him to take pressure off the rest of the side."
Mark Clemmett, BBC Football League Show pundit and npower Football League Player of the Month panel member, added: "Giles Coke has a real opportunity to establish himself at a big club this season."
Coke fended off competition from Peterborough United striker Aaron McLean, Oldham Athletic midfielder Dean Furman and MK Dons forward Sam Baldock to win the new npower League 1 Player of the Month trophy.
